A series of physical models exploring the materiality, structure and architectural expression of the transformation. The main 1:200 model focuses on the concrete cores and the differentiated façade materials. Concrete cores, MDF floor slabs and walnut columns form the structural framework, while cork represents the opaque façade and acrylic glass the glass-block façade of the new hotel volume. The 1:500 model reduces the project to its essential spatial elements, constructed entirely from MDF. At 1:1000, the model expands into its urban context: surrounding buildings are represented in white cardboard, while the Breuninger building and adjacent properties owned by the brand are distinguished through original Breuninger packaging cardboard in orange and brown.
